Embleton Bay in Northumberland is strewn with smooth weathered rocks, large and small. I always enjoy images of coastal details, and here I wanted to make a study of the collection of boulders and pebbles that I saw at my feet. The sky was slightly overcast, throwing nice soft light on the subject. I chose a standard lens (80mm on medium format) and moved in close to produce an intimate portrait of this stony shoreline.
