On a dull winter's day, I was taking a walk around the wonderful Burrator Reservoir in the western part of Dartmoor. The light wasn't ideal for photographing views of the reservoir and surrounding hills, but this scene, with a stream flowing through the bare woodlands next to the reservoir, suited the conditions perfectly. I love the soft light on the mossy boulders, the golden leaves scattered in the foreground, and the effect on the water of the long exposure necessitated by the gloomy lighting.
