This is one of my favourite photographs- and it's not even a landscape! On a sunny afternoon on Holy Island I was wandering around the old boats and fisherman's huts and came across this little upturned dinghy displaying its colourful complexion of peeling paintwork. The layers of paint almost tell a story of the life of this small boat- once, clearly, it was blue; then red, then yellow; and now salmon pink. Perhaps I will return in a couple of years and find it has been painted another colour?
