Dartmoor is home to a number of man-made reservoirs, and on this occasion I was taking a stroll around Ferworthy Reservoir near Chagford. Having struggled to find any inspiration at the water's edge, I turned my attention to the stout granite dam holding back the reservoir's watery contents. The weather had been quite wet, so there was a good flow over the stone blocks making up the wall of the dam. I decided to use a short telephoto lens to isolate the patterns in the falling water and make an abstract picture, being careful to avoid too much spray settling on my lens and spoiling the image!
