Grimspound is one of the best-preserved bronze age settlements on Dartmoor. Standing inside the perimeter wall and wandering between the small hut circles, it really makes you wonder what life could have been like for this small farming community around three thousand years ago. On this occasion I was treated to a wonderful sky full of wispy cirrus clouds, providing an attractive backdrop for the moorland scene below, lit by warm afternoon light. I particularly like the way the low-angled sunlight accentuates the contours in the velvety grass, mown short by grazing sheep.
