Although I love many aspects of photography, I have become more and more drawn to landscapes over the years. Developing my photography has been as much about discovering the beauty of the British countryside as about improving my photographic eye and technique.
My work has been published in national newspapers and magazines, and my image collection is marketed by the international stock libraries Alamy and Travelography.
My main camera system is a Bronica SQAi medium format camera, which produces 6x6cm images on 120 rollfilm. I also use a variety of other formats depending on the application, including a Hasselblad XPan panoramic camera and a Nikon D200 digital SLR. I make the majority of my colour landscape photographs on film, using mainly Fuji Velvia 50. For black and white work I use Ilford XP2 and Kodak BW400CN.
I use technical filters in many of my landscape photographs (neutral density graduates and polarisers), mainly to control contrast when using transparency film. I do not use any "creative" filters and none of the images on this site have been digitally manipulated.
I take great pleasure in producing images that show the landscape at its best, and I am continually striving for the highest technical quality in my work. I hope you enjoy viewing my photographs as much as I enjoyed producing them.
